Week 25
Answer: Highline Lake State Park

An oasis in the desert, Highline Lake is the recreation epicenter for the Grand Valley with two lakes, lush grass, trails and trees.

No matter the season, Highline Lake State Park is a diverse and welcome retreat. Connected to miles of trails and close to communities, the park makes an ideal base camp for exploring the Grand Junction area.  Whether passing through on mountain bikes, or as an end destination, the park welcomes campers, anglers, families and groups.

Two lakes: two worlds.
Highline Lake caters to action like jet and water-skiing, while Mack Mesa Lake is quieter, allowing only wakeless boating.  Fishing is available on both lakes.

Birders have plenty to see here. The Audubon Society designated the park an important bird area; thousands migrate through the area every winter.

Week 24
Answer: Walleye

Since their introduction in 1949, walleye have been placed in most large warm- and cool-water reservoirs. You can identify walleye by looking for their two separate dorsal fins and a white tipped tail. Adults feed entirely on other fish and are most often caught by slowly cranking jigs and spinners over bottom structures. Walleye are one of Colorado’s tastiest fish and they have been caught in excess of 18 pounds.

Week 23
Answer: Pueblo Zoo

Located in Pueblo,  the Pueblo Zoo covers 25 acres, is located in Pueblo City Park, and was established early in the 20th Century. It is easily accessible for all visitors including those using strollers & wheelchairs.

The Pueblo Zoo exhibits more than 400 animals of 130 species from around the world. Exhibits include Serengeti Safari (African lion); Australian Outback (red kangaroos and emus); South American Pampas (maned wolves); Asian Adventure (Asian wild horses, sunbears, gibbons); North American Prairie (bison, elk, swift foxes, prairie dogs); Ecocenter, where visitors will find a tropical rainforest.

Week 22
Answer: Sunrise Ampitheatre

The Sunrise Amphitheater on the summit of Flagstaff Mountain is a popular location for weddings between May and October. Constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1933-34, the Amphitheater is a rustic outdoor facility made from local stone. It features a large circular area, a small stage, seating for 150, and magnificent views of the city of Boulder below and the plains beyond.

Several eagle-eyed players noticed that we included the incorrect photo for “Sunrise Amphitheater” for Week 22 of our 25-Week Adventure Game with FOX 31. The photo we included was for the Stone Shelter, which is near the Sunrise Amphitheater on Flagstaff Mountain. The photo above is the correct Sunrise Amphitheater. We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused!

Week 21
Answer: Peregrine Falcon

The Peregrine Falcon has a body length of 15 - 20 inches, a 3 1/2 foot wingspan, and weighs 1 1/4 - 2 3/4 pounds.

Rivaled only by the Osprey, the Peregrine Falcon has one of the most global distributions of any bird of prey. This falcon is found on every continent except Antarctica, and lives in a wide variety of habitats from tropics, deserts, and maritime to the tundra, and from sea level to 12,000 feet. Peregrines are highly migratory in the northern part of their range.

The Peregrine Falcon is one of the most widespread birds in the world. It is found on all continents except Antarctica, and on many oceanic islands.
